Feds investigating allegations that Humana Inc. overcharged Medicare Advantage program

Do insurers have a double-standard when it comes to correct coding?  Perhaps so when the insurer owns the provider’s practice and the payer is the federal government through a Medicare Advantage Plan.  The Center for Public Integrity reported today that Humana might be up to its old tricks (when it owned for-profit hospitals until a story about Humana’s billing practices hit the news in the early 1990s).  Read more . . . .
